Saturday, September 17, 2022 Last Tuesday, Wall Street got mugged by reality and the US share indices got hammered. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500, and NASDAQ fell by 3.9%, 4.3%, and 5.2% respectively. It was the worst single day on Wall Street since the pandemic-induced crash of early 2020. The next day (Wednesday) the Australian All Ords and the S&P/ ASX 200 indices followed suit, though fell only 2.5%. Australia's Market On short-to-medium-term trend analysis, the All-Ords index continues to be bearish. Its price momentum as measured by the MACD oscillator also remains negative. On medium-to-long-term trend analysis, the All-Ords index is bearish America's Market America’s S&P500 share index is bearish on short-to-medium-term trend analysis. Its red 10-day trendline is below its green 30-day trendline and its MACD momentum indicator is negative. The US share market’s medium-to-long-term trend indicators went bearish in May for the first time since the pandemic crash of March 2020. |
