Saturday, August 20, 2022 The All-Ords index last week rose 1.0% after rising 0.5% the week before. The index lost 16.2% between April 21st and June 20th. Since then, it has rebounded by 11.3% ending the previous correction, defined as a fall of over 10%. Australia's Market On short-to-medium term trend analysis, the All-Ords index is bullish. Price momentum as measured by the MACD oscillator is positive though waning. On medium-to-long-term trend analysis, the All-Ords index is bearish. America's Market America’s S&P500 share index is bullish on short-to-medium-term trend analysis but its MACD momentum indicator slowed markedly in the last week. The US share market’s medium-to-long-term trend indicators went bearish in May for the first time since the pandemic crash of March 2020. From its peak on January 3rd to its trough on June 16th, the S&P 500 index fell by 23.6%, which being more than 20% made it a “crash”. Since then, it has rebounded by 15.3%. |
