Saturday, July 16, 2022 Australia's Market Last week the All-Ords index fell 1.1% after rising 2.3% the week before. My models signaled that the All-Ords index entered a full bear market on Friday 10th June. On short-to-medium term trend analysis, the All-Ords index is bearish. Price momentum as measured by the MACD oscillator is still positive but weakening. On medium-to-long term trend analysis, the All-Ords index is bearish America's Market America’s S&P500 share index is bearish on short-to-medium term trend analysis. Its MACD momentum indicator is positive but slowed in the last week except for Friday. The US share market’s medium-to-long-term trend indicators went bearish in May for the first time since the pandemic crash of March 2020. From its peak on January 3rd to June 17th, the S&P 500 index fell 23.4%, which being more than 20% made it a “crash”. It has since pared back that fall to 19.5%. |
