The Regional Bond Market Risk Rating (RBMR) for Latin America is showing the best performance with an unchanged medium risk reading of 50%. Last week the rating was 50% (medium risk).
On the contrary, the RBMR for the Asian-Pacific region is showing the least positive performance with an unchanged high-risk reading of 82%. Last week the rating was 82% (high risk).

The Global Stock Market Risk Rating (GSMR) increases to a score of 35% and remains at low-risk reading. Last week the GSMR reached a low-risk level of 26%.
The regional stock risk score for the US, Canada, and Western Europe is showing the best performance, indicating a low-risk reading of 28%. Last week the score was 16% (low risk). On the contrary, the RSMR for the Asian-Pacific regions is indicating the least positive reading with a low-risk level of 36%. Last week the rating was 22% (low risk).

The Global US Dollar Risk Rating (GUSDR) closes at a new medium risk level. GUSDR decreases to 50%. Last week the GUSDR reached a new high-risk level of 65%.

The Global Gold Risk Rating (GXAUR) finishes unchanged at a risk score of 31% and remains at a low-risk level. Last week the GXAUR closed at 31% (new low risk).

Australia: The local market sagged this week, dragged down by the banking sector as Westpac was found to have massively breached money laundering laws and the contagion spread to the other big 4 banks. Ongoing trade tensions between the US and China continued to be a concern however news that both the US and China want to reach a resolution should make for a brighter start to the coming week.

America: US markets also fell this week, also held back by trade worries. Impeachment proceedings against President Trump ramped up this week, introducing further uncertainty while economic data was mostly a little better than expected. Friday's news that the US and China are both keen to reach a trade deal gave some cheer and the market recovered a little on Friday.

The market continues to fluctuate between fear of lower earnings, lower GDP, and the ongoing trade war and greed spurred by the possibility of the end of the trade war, strong consumer spending, wage growth, the probability of the Fed continuing to lower rates, and stronger than expected actual earnings and sales.

Our LevBands signal (an annualized return of 14.47% since began tracking on TimerTrac on 4/27/16) has been in UPRO for more than a week and has an order scheduled to sell when it falls to its trailing stop price (CYA). Australia: This week the local market posted a strong rise in the face of largely negative data, however, the prospect of further interest rate cuts and a rising iron ore price propelled the market to its highest level in 3 months.

America: Despite sagging factory production and slowing consumer spending, the US market posted yet another rise this week after news that US-China trade negotiations are progressing, however, this remains a source of uncertainty going forward as there are still key issues to be resolved.

The Global US Dollar Risk Rating (GUSDR) closes at a new high-risk level. The GUSDR increases to 65%. Last week the GUSDR reached a new medium risk level of 46%.

The Global Gold Risk Rating (GXAUR) finishes lower at a risk score of 31% and changes to a new low-risk level. Last week the GXAUR closed at 44% (new medium risk).

US stock markets finished higher on Friday at new record highs. The US stock market risk decreased to a low-risk level of 19%. US tech stock risk closed lower at a low-risk reading of 19%.

The global stock risk rating (GSMR) sunk to a low-risk reading of 24%.
The regional stock risk score for the US, Canada, and Western Europe finished lower at a low-risk reading of 14%.

The global government bond risk benchmark (GBMR) closed higher at a high-risk reading of 86%.
The regional bond risk indication for the US, Canada, and Western Europe remained unchanged at a high-risk indication of 88%.

The global US Dollar risk score (GUSDR) finished at a medium risk level. GUSDR decreased to 46%.

The Global Gold Risk Rating (GXAUR) closed unchanged at a medium risk reading of 44%.

Australia: Optimism over a Phase 1 trade deal between the US and China helped lift the local market this week, triggering a fall in the price of gold as investors moved funds back into riskier assets such as equities. Resource stocks did not benefit from the cash flow as falling gold prices and a deteriorating security situation in Burkina Faso weighed on the sector.

America: As previously mentioned, hopes over a trade deal with China and a consequent winding back of tariffs propelled US markets higher this week, further boosted by an earnings season that largely produced better results than had been expected. President Trump's announcement on Friday that he had not agreed to any rollback of tariffs delivered a hiccup but the market finished the week with a gain nonetheless.

Australia: The All Ords fell back this week, with financials leading the slide as ANZ reduced the franking on its dividends. With doubts looming over a US-China trade deal, China's economy showing more signs of slowing and Hong Kong's economy slipping into recession, the immediate future looks murky.

America: US markets had a good week as the Federal Reserve cut official interest rates and progress continues to be made in the trade war with China, however doubts over the likelihood of a long term deal linger. Manufacturing data continues to point to a slowing of activity as the global economy weakens, however, the company reporting season has continued in a largely optimistic vein as non-manufacturing sectors have generally been reporting positive results.
